Embracing New Opportunities: My Journey with the American Needs You Fellows Program!

I’m thrilled to announce that I am joining the American Needs You (ANY) Fellows program in Chicago, IL! As a first-generation student and proud alumnus of ANY, I will use the powerful lessons learned through mentorship and guidance, including the importance of self-worth, to navigate my career and personal development.

In my new role as a Mentor Coach, I have the incredible opportunity to work one-on-one with a fellow first-generation college student. Together, we’ll explore various career paths and engage in professional development training to equip them with the tools needed to succeed. My mission is to help my mentee identify and cultivate their strengths, secure valuable internships, and navigate any obstacles that may arise along the way.

What I love most about this program is the environment it fosters—an opportunity to build leadership skills while connecting with a vibrant community of Mentor Coaches. Engaging in mentorship not only aids the personal and professional growth of my mentee but also enhances my self-reflection and development. It’s a two-way street that enriches both participants.

Being part of America Needs You means being part of something bigger. It’s about creating a supportive landscape where students can thrive, mentors can learn from one another, and everyone involved can develop a robust professional network. This community is instrumental for ongoing career advancement and growth for mentees, mentors, and team leaders.

If you’re passionate about making a difference and want to contribute to the growth of first-generation students, I encourage you to consider becoming a one-day career coach at America Needs You. It’s a fantastic opportunity to see if this rewarding program aligns with your aspirations!

Together, we can empower and uplift the next generation of leaders. Volunteer with America Needs You today and help shape the future!
