My DACA and Work Authorization Update

On January 18th, 2024, I was let go from my job. Not because I was fired or laid off, but because my DACA and Employment Authorization ID expired. As a recipient of DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals), I’m required to renew my status every 2 years in order to maintain a lawful status, and the ability to be employable. While I did start the renewable process towards the end of summer 2023, it took time for USCIS to process, approve, and mail out my new ID, but at last, I can go back to work.
